A contrast tool against generation of food surpluses is provided by the GDO companies that,  according  with the Regions promoting this project, carry out promotional campaigns concerning food close to expiration.

From May 27th, 300 large retail outlets in Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta  offer discounts of at least 30% on products with close expiration date (or TMC) in spaces marked with :
