Soak the bread in the milk and then squeeze it out well. Soften the raisins in lukewarm water. In a bowl, combine the bread, sugar, crushed amaretti biscuits, eggs, grated lemon zest, cocoa, and finally the rum. Grease a cake tin, pour in the mixture, and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake at 160°C for approximately 40 minutes.
Some people add almonds, pine nuts, or walnuts. Others add roasted chestnuts, and some even add dark chocolate. Feel free to experiment according to your taste.
