Take your leftover cheeses and soak them in milk, even overnight.
Drain the cheeses and melt them in a double boiler, adding the milk they soaked in until they reach a creamy consistency. At this point, add an egg and allow it to thicken well.
You are now ready to lightly dip slices of stale bread into the remaining milk and place them in a preheated oven for a few minutes to crisp up.
Finally, spread the leftover fondue onto the toasted milk-soaked bread slices.
